What does a university offer that a college doesn’t?

Universities typically offer higher education courses (such as degree programs) while colleges usually provide further education courses (such as A-levels). There are exceptions, however – some universities only run foundation-level courses, while some colleges deliver degrees. Universities tend to be larger than colleges and are usually older, too.

University vs College: Which is right for you?

There’s no simple answer to this question. It largely depends on what level of qualification you’re looking for and how long you want to spend studying. If you’re looking to study at degree level or above, then a university may well be your best choice. But if you don’t need a full degree and wish to study for just one or two years, then a college may be the better option.
